Suppose you have one eye. The creature would not survive because of its inability to grasp the distance.

But many insectlike eyes are totally possible.

One leg and one arm is out of the question but what if you have more than two arms and two legs.

The redundancy of additional protuberance will kill the creature because of heavier weight and inefficiency. Two armed animals will fight more effectively than three or four armed ones.

So the natural selection will make them invariably similar to humans..

Insectlike eyes observed by abductees on mantis looking aliens makes sense since it will make their intelligence higher by the multiple viewing of the object by many segment observation.

Don't be sure about this. 8 and 10 armed creatures (octopusses, squids) do live and fight in the sea. In some situations (environments) many arms could be an advantage (if you have 2 wounded real bad then you still have lots, etc.), in others they could be a disadvantage, as you mean it.

Your previous points up to this point were correct, but what about E.T.? He has 2 arms, and 2 legs. He even has all of his sense organs at the highest point, and in the same approximate locations on the face. Still, his outline is considerably more inhuman than the outline of a Grey.

I think your points only suggest that intelligent aliens won't swarm with arms and legs, or pogo around on a single leg. It does nothing to explain why a grey would have the same general body plan as a human.

I tend to look down on the hypothesis that aliens 'made' us (simply because it fails as an explanation), but at least that avoids having to explain why a creature which was the product of an independent evolution would resemble a human being with somewhat bigger head and eyes (as you are trying to do).

I think that's an unwarrented logical leap. Different brain wiring would be required, certainly, but not necessarily intelligence-enhancing differences.

Sorry, that 'similar on the outside but strikingly different on the inside' business might be fine for Mr. Spock or Dr. Who, but not for serious scientific

So is it your argument that there's a natural selection pressure operating on Greys such that those who less resemble a human from planet Earth are culled from the herd, while those coming closer to the human body plan live to have lots of little Greys who look just like them?

If not, then bringing up the principles of mimicry and camouflage is to bring up irrelevancies.

You still haven't made your case.

What you were doing was trying to assure us that a starkly implausible aspect of UFO lore was at least somewhat plausible: That an intelligent species evolved on another world independently of homo sapiens might still follow the human body plan with only a few minor differences. First you correctly established that there's no reason to expect ET's to swarm with multiple arms or pogo around on a single leg. When pressed, you reminded us that sometimes an insect finds survival value in looking like a leaf, or that there are some species of bugs which only experts can tell apart. None of this in any way supported your original case.

The reason for the situation regarding UFO mythology is that some science fiction writers are insufficiently imaginative, and UFO lore derives more from low-quality science fiction than from reality.

Comic books, in particular, depicted men from the distant future as small and frail with an oversized head. They then began depicting aliens in this way to convey that the aliens were 'more evolved' than humans. UFO mythology then picked up and incorporated this stereotype.

Oh, sorry. Without even looking, I'll take it for granted you're right. Then I should correct myself and say that of the two irrelevancies offered, you only offered the least relevant of the two rather than both.

I have seen Aliens in spacecraft twice. They are overall shaped like us. But there are races that look like bugs and various other critters. There are some that look exactly like us and infact interbreed with our females in biblical times. And the SONS of god, seeing that the daughters of MEN were fair, had sons by them, men of old men of renown. We were at one time Bonobos apes, untill they added some new DNA. Some Bonobos look just like us but are slightly more hairy. We share about 98% of their DNA. The missing link is Aliens. The breeding program has been going on for millions of years. The fact that most people can't accept the truth, or refuse to look at it, is their problem, but ignorance is NO EXCUSE. There all kinds of information on the History and the Science channels. "All the Biblical Gods were/are ALIENS"

Many top line scientists are very interested, but want to keep their jobs, so they keep quiet publicly.
