Hey hammer:
I have been thinking a lot about Ball Lightning lately. I have had a hard time accepting that it exists, over the years. I watched a documentary about it some years back. This fellow acquired a huge battery from a Submarine. When he would short the 2 leads together, something akin to Ball Lightning would fly off the wires and bounce around the floor for a few seconds. But, keep in mind that the material the wired are made from, probably add to the effect, as they get vaporized. Most of us feel that it’s a ball of electrons. But, that idea has some problems. If Ball Lightning, is a bunch of electrons, why don’t the immediately fly apart?
When there’s a Total Eclipse, ( And not of your Heart ), you can see a stream of something radiating away from Old Sol. That’s mainly electrons. If your wondering where the electrons come from, they are disassociated from atoms of mainly Hydrogen. Above a certain temperature, atoms in the Suns Core, become ionized, which means the electrons fly off the H2 cores. If electrons get hot enough , to appear in plasma form, they would have to be very hot, and having the same charge, would have nothing holding them together.
But, in recent years, we have come to realize that seemingly empty space, is NOT. It’s teeming with many members of the particle\wave family. Some of these particle\waves, interact with anything like atoms nearby. These particle\waves\virtual pairs, may create an environment, that allows the Ball lightning, to survive, for at least a number of seconds.
But, another possibly is, they may have something to do with the UFO phenomenon, that has really heated up, is “ORBS”. Several DVDs are available at History.com. Go to the area called UFO Hunter, look for a show called “Dark Presence” (2009), it’s fascinating. Are these “ORBs”, in any way connected to those driving “Flying Saucers.” They may or may not be! The only thing I know for sure, sightings have increased radically the last few years.
If you want to see, the advances were making in Sciences constant desire to figure out what we see around it, go to the site and watch lightning slowed down. You will be amazed and I’m sure you can find even better Videos, on the Net.
