Paul Kimball from Above & Beyond wrote an interesting post on the Whether the aliens that will eventually visit earth, or are doing so right now in the UFO’s, are friendly or not.
In a nutshell, Paul thinks that assuming that Aliens are friendly or peaceful is based on nothing more than wishful thinking, a conclusion he reached by debunking the two main theories as to why aliens who reach earth would necessarily be friendly.
Many ETH advocates would say “yes, of course they’re friendly” - they run the gamut from the more serious types, like Stan Friedman, who talks of the day when we may qualify for some benevolent “Cosmic Kindergarten” of higher awareness, and the less serious types, such as Steven Greer and most of the exopols.
They usually base this second assumption on a line of reasoning that goes something like this: aliens are obviously more advanced than us, in order to be able to get here from “there”, so they must have survived their own nuclear age, or equivalent, which means they must be peaceful.
I beg to differ - both from Paul and from the others.
Yes, Aliens could be friendly, and they could also not be. As much as I love watching Sci Fi Series such as Star Gate and so on, I find it highly incredible to be able to compare an alien society, sensibilities, moralities or anything else for that matter to our societies ideas of those concepts.
The whole point is - These Aliens are Alien. They developed under completely different conditions evolving into completely different species making our social terminology probably very unsuitable for describing them or “boxing” them in any way. I agree, it would be a lot easier if we could label them as good bad green blue, but I am afraid that that is not going to be so easy.

I’m glad you wrote this because just posting Paul’s link doesn’t tell the whole story, so I removed it and replaced it with yours.
Too many of Paul’s articles are about ‘what other people think’. The ‘other people’ part is unnecessary.
Personally, I’ve found them to be benevolent however, they know evil like none other so I call them the benevolent malevolent creatures. lol
For that matter, they can also be termed ‘the tricksters’ too and they wear a lot of different hats so that they can haul around a lot of different tricks under those hats.
Pure evil, not likely. I say this because they’ve survived obviously a whole lot longer than we have. History dictates that division destroys a tribe, a family, a country, a continent, and even a civilization. They didn’t destroy themselves and they’re very, very old, which tells me that they stood above such things long, long ago.
Everything stays assumption until it changes.
Aliens could be anything, everything and nothing we ever imagined, talked about, thought about.
Been like that for 60 years. It hasn’t changed.
All our oppinions have and our culture did.
We keep bringing down our own proof and form new oppinions.
Many organisations all not funded to obtain any decent goals.
No public voice in these matters…many little voices though.
How many organisations claim to “know” ?
How many claim to “find” “the answer” ?
Where is the world standing up and demanding answers or action ?
And by world I mean us, the people.
Are we that afraid of each other that we keep avoiding progress ?
In Medieval times we were “forced” to build gigantic structures. Sometimes the build lasted lifetimes. People worked on that with faith and pride.
When did we put so much effort in something…anything like that lately ?
We’re all egotistical and too busy with “daily life”.
When we stop doing the senseless stuff and stop hurting one another then we’re ready to discuss alien life and how it might “be”.

Thank you marilyn, those words have been stuck in my mind for a long time.
The strange thing is..I notice many other people talking in the same matter as I do.
I have the feeling (just a feeling) that we’re all more on the same level than ever before.
And that many “think” the same way. Yet still.. Nothing changes. (global consciousness seems fitting, but I’ll keep my skeptic side and await progress.)
I know…change takes time..woman rights came after 75 years of protests. Insane huh…

I personaly do not think all extraterrestrials are benevolent,this is very clear when you study the phenomena.for those who have looked carefully into the alien abduction phenomenon often conclude that the experience runs in families. People who are abducted by UFOs will often have had parents who were abducted too and, likewise, their own children are very likely to be affected. It is as if the aliens are interested in particular genetic lines:why i ask? some of the abductees stories are truly horrifying,others are not so bad,it has become clear to me that a certain faction of extraterrestrials have been creating human alien hybrids.this has puzzled me and kept me up alot of nights with little sleep.some suggest that the ultimate intention of the ETs is to infiltrate our societies and our world and there are some who believe that this aim has already gone a long way to being realised. are there aliens living among us, walking past us in the street, perhaps even exercising power over us through governments ministries:? The dark implications of this are awful and endless.if anyone agrees with me here(or not) please leave a message.thank you
i think the dark implications you mention have a very real place in the discussion. ive been wondering if the push in certain western countries to expand their DNA (criminal) database to the general public has more to do with looking for anomalous blood type than keeping tabs on DNA in the event of future criminal activity. If that is the case, then i harbour serious doubts as to whether the govts are doing this to protect us, or to protect themselves. our governments have clearly demonstrated that their intentions towards the people of earth are as cold and as ruthless and as manipulative as any alien race we could imagine, and has been going on for thousands of years already. which ties back in to the Annunaki theory - the ruling elites. Human freedom has never really been the goal. the illusion of human freedom is the goal.

you once told me not to conduct my experiment to contact aliens telepathically. Before you wrote that, just thinking about the experiment haunted me with visions of greys. They weren’t what I considered pleasant. I wouldn’t agree with you however, that they have anything to do with our dead. I believe that our souls are independent intelligences.
After I read your remarks, I guess I sabotaged my own experiment. I personally feel that any entity that would divide us as human beings is not benevolent. That’s why we have wars. It is obvious to me that UFOs and aliens have been around for millenia. It’s there to see in art and ancient writings. What fascinates me, is that most human beings seem to be living in a world which is totally artificial, and they don’t even know it or want to know. People often say, "if the aliens are out there, they could have domminated us years ago". Well, considering the level of sophistication of our media, maybe we’re doing a pretty good job of it ourselves.
I remember an extraordinary circumstance when I was attending Riverside City College, Riverside CA. I was taking physiological psychology. My professor was quite tall approximately 6′2"-6′4". He was blond, blue eyed, quite strong without any attempted effort. He started to speak and as he did I had many questions. When he spoke he walked about the room. When he spoke I thought "then what if….". He about faced, looked at me, then directly answered the question. He turned again and started to speak, again I thought "if that is true, than how can that be?". He turned again, looked directly into my eyes and answered the question. This went on and on. He even broke off his sentences to answer the question I had in thought. The other students were gettiong un-nerved. Some gasped other just sat there with their mouths gaping open. I started to get severe headaches and felt that I had to drop his class. I relayed this in my thoughts, he looked down at me then bowed his head as if to say that is was okay. Later that same day, the day I withdrew from the class, I saw him in the courtyard sitting on a bench by himself. The feeling I got from him was some degree of anger (as though he was stuck here), frustration, and that of not being in the correct time. It was as though he know too much to be happy. Currently he did not see me yet. I hid behind one of the many large pillars. I mentally asked a question. He answered me, I came out from behind the pillar only to find him looking directly at me. His eyes followed me until I was out of sight. I’ve had telepathy off and on my hole life but nothing to this degree. I also wondered why the other students in the room could not or were not enabled to communicate in this way.

I’m not positive that Mentally exists, but I think it may, because of an incident in my life in the spring of 1947, up in the mountains of western Washington. Us kids, saw this light in the sky that kept flying around, unlike any airplans I’ve ever seen, and I was born across the river from Boeing Plant 2, my dad worked there all through the war. So are family knew slighty more than average about airplanes. I was fascinated by them. These light were not attached to any airplanes. The adults all tried to come with an explanation. The best they could do was, It’s some kind of a crazy new falling star or something. No one suggested, they were some kind of a craft. But, here’s the freaky part, I knew they were some kind of craft, not made by man. And I swear I kept getting the message: "You Can Do This", then we left for home. It followed us for over 60 miles, and I kneldt in the back seat and watched them out the window, and kept getting the same message, but I didn’t tell anyone, I would have gotten yelled at. Now, the unanswered question will remain forever, did I imagine the Mental Telepathy thingy? I will only know if a Flying Saucer landed in front of my house, Piloted by Ace, Deuce and Trippy. It displays an aspect of Quantum Mechanics, that are easy to show where the initial assumption is incorrect.
